Man fatally shot on Far South Side identified as Dorian Tompkins

A man fatally shot two weeks ago in the Riverdale neighborhood on the Far South Side has now been identified as 20-year-old Dorian Tompkins.

Tompkins was standing outside about 8 p.m. on April 9 in the 13100 block of South Langley when several males walked up and fired shots, striking him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office. His home address was not known. He was initially identified as Dorian Phompkins.
