Dude. Do you ever wonder, like, what everyone ate on 4/20?
On this year’s unofficial weed-smoking holiday, stoners around the country succumbed to the sour-sweet lure of Nerds Ropes, according to convenience-store app GoPuff, which experienced a 143 percent growth on Thursday when it came to Nerd Ropes orders.
The candy — a string of red licorice with Nerds candies stuck to it — beat out last year’s more predictable top order: Ben and Jerry’s “Half Baked” ice cream.
In fact, this year, stoners got a little more creative across the board, with orders like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Nacho Cheese Doritos. Ice cream wasn’t even in the top 10.
“It’s a throwback that a lot of our customers ate as kids,” said Jake Levin, GoPuff’s marketing director. “It also is inexpensive . . . Above all, they’re delicious and have everything you want in a snack: chewy, crunchy, sweet, sour, and fun to play with.”
Here in New York City, local pot-smokers opted for another unexpected munchie: string cheese was the fourth-most ordered item from GoPuff.
